Fireplace: Grout Commitment

Ok, I did it! I picked a grout color!

I decided to go with the lighter color. And I'm SO happy with it.

I wasn't even planning on picking a grout color, let alone grouting, today....but it just sort of happened. So, I got my grout float out and got to work.

Bit by bit, every last piece of tile got covered.

And before I knew it, I was done grouting.

Wait a second...am I actually done?? Holy cow!! I'm done!! My fireplace is DONE!!

Now, I just need to find the perfect items to put on my fireplace mantel.

Cheers!

  1. It looks really great! I liked the lighter color better and it looks amazing. It would be cool to see a side-by-side before/after shot. :-)

    1. THANKY YOU!! Good call on the before/after comparison! I definitely plan to post that, but am trying to decorate the mantel first -- it's taking much longer than I anticipated to find the *perfect* knick knacks. :)

    2. I change the stuff on my mantle like every month, so I totally know how that is! We have a nasty painted brick fireplace (white brick + wood burning = always filthy!) so I'm completely envious looking at this project.

  2. I love your choices and your project turned out beautiful!
Like Carrie, I change my mantel monthly, just can't seem to get the 7.5' long monster to look just right, especially when it sits 5' high because you have to look up at everything.

  3. Hi Alison,

Your fireplace surround turned out beautifully! I'd love to pin this to The Home Depot's tile pinboard if you don't mind!

    1. Hello there, Caroline! I don't mind at all! In fact, I'm incredibly flattered!

My most popular project on my blog features a hanging basket from Home Depot -- you guys were the only ones who carried the EXACT basket I needed. I would be honored if you would check it out. :)
